Sun Tan Lotion is a must!
Summer is a great time to get a tan. The summer sun feels great on your skin until a sunburn burns your spirits. Century Orthodontics wanted to remind all of our patients and their families to wear suntan lotion and reapply every two hours to protect your skin from a serious burn. Your skin is very important and even if your tan looks great now, you may not when you are older. UV rays that make you look tan can damage the elastic parts of your skin which intensifies wrinkles, and also can give you freckles and skin cancer. Wear a hat and keep the suntan lotion on to help prevent burns and skin damage. To get the most protection, experts recommend applying sunscreen 20 minutes before heading outdoors and 20 minutes after being outdoors and then reapplying every two until dark. Don’t forget important parts like scalp, ears, and tops of feet and back of your neck. To check the UV forecast visit:
Why Do I Do This?
Many of our patients wear rubber bands. The question is why do you wear rubber bands? The answer is for many different reasons. Rubber bands can fix a patient’s bite, close spaces, and rotate teeth. Many people find these rubber bands very annoying, and they are but they are very important to help finish your treatment. Rubber bands can be worn in many different ways. So if the doctor says its time for rubber bands, please make sure you understand how to wear them properly and for the right amount of time. If you are wearing them full time, this means 24/7 except for eating and brushing. Also remember to change the rubber bands 3-4 times daily.
